Great article in Charlotte Observer this AM. Former East Bladen and ASU all-everything football star Kevin Richardson, is one of several former athletes now associated with NASCAR. Richardson, 32, is currently a member of the pit crew for Ricky Stenhouse’s Roush Fenway No. 17 Ford.
Richardson rushed for 88 yards in Appalachian State’s upset of Michigan in 2007.

Thinking out loud….Before this time a year from now we will have been through another city election season. Then shortly after the first of year 2018, filing for for county, state and national elections will begin.
Frankly, happy the US Supreme Court has overturned the current NC federal redistricting effort. Hope any new plan will leave Bladen in a single district with other local counties. What do we have in common with Mecklenburg, Union, Anson, Richmond? Nothing, except about half of Bladen County residents are all in the same congressional district.
Speaking of what to expect, Bladen County Commissioners and local municipal officials are preparing budgets that must be approved before July 1, and then a tax bill will arrive in July or August.
We recorded 1.3 inches of rainfall, at the Hester household over the past couple of days, as of 6 AM today. Need more, but thankful for what we have received. Some severe damage in Autryville in Sampson County, none in Bladen that I am aware of.
