Thoughts While Shaving
Spread the love

Thoughts While ShavingDid your mom ever tell you ‘it’s time for a cleaning out”.  At our house that meant a dose of caster oil with a sip of orange juice from a quart size tin can.

Hear very little about ‘coon huntin’ now, a few years ago it was a favorite of many.  I am sure some continue, but none that I am aware of in my immediate area.  A fox chase was big as well.  Pull up, open the dog box, and the chase was on.  Guess it helped to keep the fox out of the chicken house.

If you have no job, please know, jobs are available.  Must be drug-free, hopefully a high school education or equivalent (GED) education, get in the habit of being to work on time and have a good attitude.  If you are not a high school graduate and no GED, enroll at Bladen Community College.

Jobs at Carrol Poultry in Bladenboro schedule to open next week (last report), about 280 new jobs coming to Smithfield Foods in Tar Heel about this time next year, lots of jobs at Sanderson Farms in St. Pauls now;  good pay, good benefits, and there are others, check with Employment Security Commission in Elizabethtown.  If you are healthy and do not work, should not expect others to support you.

Been hearing about the need for jobs for years.  They are available NOW in Bladen County and surrounding area.

A reminder of the dedication of the new Bladen County Law Enforcement Center (Detention Center) on Smith Circle, Elizabethtown, NC, 10 AM Friday.  Call Sheryl at 862-6961 to confirm your attendance.  Members of Center Roads Baptist Church will prepare a meal for attendees, need a number.
