Thoughts While ShavingNorth Carolina made a huge offer (reportedly $1.5 billion) to the Toyota-Mazda project for new plant.  It was rejected for a site in Huntsville, Alabama.  One advantage for the site chosen, reportedly, a Toyota engine plant is less than 15 miles away.

South Carolina, Alabama, and other nearby states have been very successful in attracting huge industries.

Maybe next time for a Tar Heel site.  So competitive, despite incentives.  I know, incentives are not high on the list of many.  But, it’s the world we live in.  Nothing times nothing equals nothing.  Most incentives are tax breaks for a set number of years, usually on a decreasing scale, based on investment.

Expect showers, off and on today and high temperatures in the mid 70s.

We take so much for granted.  Service providers, including plumbers, electricians and others, all doing their ‘thing’.  Grateful for all.

Budgets are likely to be s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d, due to the recent prolonged cold weather.  Check your  utility bill for proof.  So thankful they are there with just enough power to meet our needs.

January is when the Christmas bills come due, especially for ‘plastic users’!

Frankly, I am pleased the Court system ruled new Congressional Districts need to be drawn.  For years the Democratic party were in the gerrymandering business and Republicans promised better if they ever gained control of Legislature.  Same deal now, just different party.  Just be fair, or is that impossible for either party?
