Thoughts While ShavingApril 2023 is coming to a close … May begins Monday…

Can’t imagine the sound of gunfire near a gathering of youngsters playing ball in the city limits of Elizabethtown … The thoughts of a gun being fired at that location … is scary, but it’s the world we live in.

Note to major league baseball fans … MacKenzie Gore, Whiteville native, had one of his best outings last night, since reaching the big league. The Washington Nationals defeated the New York Mets 4-1. Line score … Nationals 4 runs on 8 hits and one error. Mets line score, 1 run on 4 hits and 3 errors. Gore pitched 6 innings … gave up 1 run on 4 hits, 2 base on balls and recorded 10 strikeouts…

More rainfall last evening … totals varied … nearly an inch and a half at the Curt Brown airport weather station…

Seems our nation is polarized … Should be more interesting as we move closer to the filing deadline for the next primary election, still months away…

Apparently there is a shortage of some new autos…

I think back to my first ride or two … First was a 1947 Chevy, vacuum shift, purchased from my preacher … $200 … next was a ’49 Plymouth, another $200 ride … then a 1953 Ford and a ’55 Chevrolet, 8 cylinder … with chrome wheels and a whip antenna. The Ford and Chevrolet were considerably more expensive … keep in mind these were my autos in the mid ’60s … Lots of good, and not so good memories…
