West Bladen and St. Pauls moved up their baseball and softball games two days in hopes of avoiding rain forecast later in the week. East Bladen had scheduled non-conference baseball and softball games Wednesday against South Brunswick.
Mother Nature wasn’t impressed.
Steady rain that began late Wednesday afternoon resulted in the games being called off. Also, Elizabethtown Dixie Youth Baseball games scheduled at Leinwand Park were postponed.
The South Brunswick at East Bladen baseball and softball games will not be rescheduled.
The St. Pauls at West Bladen baseball game has been rescheduled Monday at 6 p.m. The softball game has been rescheduled Wednesday at 6 p.m. It means the Knights teams each will have three games next week to end the regular season. West Bladen is scheduled to play Midway on Tuesday and Friday, May 5.
Two games were played Wednesday. The West Bladen girls’ soccer team lost to St. Pauls 1-0 in a game that stopped at halftime because of the rain. The East Bladen junior varsity baseball team lost to South Brunswick 5-1.
