thoughts while shavingAs usual, a quick look at the weather … Yesterday’s high temp was a comfy 78 degrees…

Today … Areas of fog before 9 a.m. Otherwise, sunny with a high near 84 … with a southwest breeze in the 5 to 7 mph range this morning … Mostly clear tonight, low around 59. Tuesday, mostly sunny with a high near 86, windy, gusts as high as 15 mph.

20% chance of precipitation Tuesday night, increasing to a 40% Wednesday … and 30% Wednesday night…

Expect to hear more about the weather this week … The National Integrated Heat Health Information System (NIHHIS) and their federal partners will conduct a social media campaign to raise awareness and preparedness for the upcoming warm season…

• Tuesday … April 30th, Heat Related Illness Awareness.
• Wednesday … May 1st … National Heatstroke Prevention Day (including vehicular heatstroke prevention).
• Thursday … May 2nd … Personal Risk Factors with heat, including disproportionately impacted populations.
• Friday … May 3rd … Preparedness, Tools, Resources.

Mother’s Day is May 12th…

White Lake Water Festival May 18th … and a new event this year is Family Sandcastle Building Contest … Miss NC will attend, if all goes as planned … Parade, the works…

Remember as a student in our public schools … heat was provided by radiators with someone stoking the fire … and no cooling, period? Different today…

Huge farm equipment will be on our roadways over the coming days and weeks, moving around … give them time and space … patience…
