Elizabethtown’s Dixie Youth team arrived safe and sound in Rustin, Louisiana and are preparing for game 1 against Alabama (Montgomery) tonight, 9 p.m., Bladen County time. The game is expected to be televised on HiCast Sports Mobile App in conjunction with JockJive Sports. Game may be free … not sure. HiCast is advertising a 7-day pass for $12.99.

Back home, supporters will be gathering at San Jose Mexican restaurant in Elizabethtown to watch the game. All are invited.

Weather in Rustin … high temps near 90, lows in the 70s and a 20% chance of rain.

High school football practice is off to a good start for both Bladen County teams. John Clark reports about 50 prospects at East and West Bladen. First official game for both teams is August 23. West Bladen will host South Brunswick and East takes on Wallace-Rose Hill at East Bladen.

School is either underway or will be soon for all Bladen County students…
