Thoughts While Shaving
Spread the love

A quick look at the weather forecast indicates a strong possibility of showers and thunderstorms today … a slight chance of showers between 8 a.m. and 10, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 10. High temp near 84 and a 50% chance of rain … Tonight, showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy with a low near 72 and a 60% chance of rain…

Same type forecast thru Sunday night … then hot, 90 degrees Monday…

Think I will take a chance of mowing, mostly weeds … this A.M.

I enjoy cutting grass, weeds whatever … As I mature (grow older) I recall the past and the issues we faced as young parents, and how we grew older thinking about the issues our youngsters would deal with … Incidentally, both are doing well … One with over 30 years at the same place, different positions, overall, very well … and the other nearing … mmmm … 15 years or more driving a truck for Food Lion … 25 to 30 years of driving overall … beginning at the lowest level … moving up, hopeful every move is an improvement.

Thought turns to neighbors, some we have known for over 50 years, some much less … all good hard working folks, some now retired, some in the midst of rearing a young family … All good decent folks at different stages in their lives … Priorities change as we more forward … but mostly family comes first … regardless of the years, occupation, etc. For some, dealing with health issues is foremost … Our view of life changes some as we age … We, my bride and I, have experienced most of the stages … .And yes, we do have new neighbors … sometimes we fail to reach out as we grow older…

Sorry, all thoughts while shaving … growing older and still making memories…

One of the best parts of growing older is watching grandchildren, now great-grands, begin their journey thru life…

“Aging seems to be the only way to live a long life.” Kitty O’Neill Collins

“Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter.” Mark Twain

“I suppose real old age begins when one looks backward rather than forward.” Mary Sarton
