Thoughts While ShavingFinally, the holidays are over and it’s time to return to a normal schedule … Back to school, most of the bowl games are over, and there is work to be done…

Most exciting bowl game I saw was #16 Tulane’s comeback to defeat #10 USC , 46-45. Final score with about 10 seconds left, and only time they led during the entire game. I just stumbled across it … Fan of neither … Liberty Bowl must have been exciting 3 overtimes … Arkansas over Kansas 55-53. Greatest mismatch … Citrus Bowl, LSU 63 – Purdue 7.

NCAA championship playoff games … #1 Georgia 42 – #4 Ohio State 41 and #3 TCU 51 – #2 Michigan 45 … NCAA championship pits Georgia vs TCU … Winner takes all.

Back to work for all who had Monday off, back to school for the youngsters and their leaders … For us retirees, just another day … to do as we please … Isn’t that what retirement is all about?

For all moving around early this AM … Patchy fog before 9 a.m., otherwise, partly sunny with a high near 74 on January 3rd. Tonight, a slight chance of showers after 1 a.m., with a low around 61 and a 20% chance of precipitation. Wednesday, a chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 1 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 77. Southwest wind 8 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of rain is 60% Wednesday and Wednesday night … Cooler temps beginning Friday, with highs in the upper 50s and low 60s…

Tired of leftovers … none at our house, cook on strike, I think … observing holidays … first Christmas, an anniversary … then New Year’s…

I sure am happy I never had a desire to be a law enforcement officer … More shootings than I have ever heard of … I think … I’m thankful for all law enforcement officers…
