A new week, a new month and more hot weather, welcome to Bladen…

Temps are expected to range from low 90s to 100 degrees every day this week. Best chance for rain … 20% on Wednesday, 30% Saturday and 40% Sunday.

Sidewalk sale continues in Elizabethtown, all week long…

Fireworks at White Lake Thursday, July 4th.

Sound like broken record, just the facts.

Expect longer lines at food stores and restaurants. We welcome all to our corner of the world.

Suggestions for visitors … Cape Fear Winery, near the airport, Lu Mil near Dublin, Allen Brothers Hunting Preserve off Cabbage road, north of Bladenboro. So much to see and do in the White Lake area, maybe cross the Cape Fear River on the ferry near Kelly. …. And downtown Elizabethtown is as attractive as any town in the state, my biased opinion, featuring as many good eating places as any town around, fast food or a good meal. Enjoy fresh blueberries at numerous locations near White Lake. I know, probably left someplace off the list, not intentional.

Oh yes, check BladenOnline for shopping suggestions and take us home with you. … We are FREE.

Summer means happy times and good sunshine. It means going to the lake, cruising on the Cape Fear River … just having fun.

“If summer had one defining scent, it would definitely be the smell of barbecue.” Katie Lee

“I love summertime more than anything else in the world. That is the only thing that gets me through the winter, knowing that summer is going to be there.” Jack McBrayer
