CLINTON – Midway won the final Southeastern Athletic Conference golf match of the season Monday with a 318 team total. West Bladen finished 2nd with a 339, and Clinton placed 3rd with a 343 total. Fairmont carded a 366 total followed by Red Springs (411).

Midway’s Kaison Marley (73) edged teammate Dakota Bedard (74) by a single stroke to take medalist honors. West Bladen senior Daniel Gustafson placed 3rd with a 75 only 2 shots out of 1st place. Clinton’s Finn Howard was 4th with a 77.

Other West Bladen scores included: Nolan Sessoms (86), Seth Faircloth (89), Chason Harris (89) and Ben Davis (96).

For the season Midway had the lowest average score for 9 matches with a 325. West Bladen edged Clinton 349-350 to take 2nd place. Those 3 teams will advance to the regionals that will begin Monday, May 6th at The Preserve at Jordan Lake Golf Club.

Marley’s 77 average claimed season individual honors. Howard claimed runner-up honors with a 79 average. Bedard’s 80 took 3rd place just ahead of Gustafson’s 82 average. The rest of the top 10 averages were: Midway’s Jonathan Stephenson (84); Clinton’s Hayden Boney (86) and Brock Sumner (86); Midway’s Connor Jackson (88); West Bladen’s Seth Faircloth (89); and Midway’s Ryan Naylor (89). West Bladen’s Nolan Sessoms was 11th with a 90 average.
