Repeat … Bladenboro Beast Fest very successful … 1st one I have missed in years … Just kept putting it off all day long … but followed with great interest … with various posts on Facebook … Congratulations to all … especially Willis Nance Jr. … The Bladenboro Gym is now the Willis Nance Jr. Gym. He was boys coach in late 80s and early 90s … Very successful including a pair of state championships…
I skipped eating time at Wesley’s Chapel Homecoming yesterday … Attended service, then join family, shared lunch at old home place on Marshall Cain Road, Bladenboro … Good time … 6 siblings, 5 attended … All in reasonably good health from mid to late 60s to early 80s … in age.
I did not get to my favorite tree in the middle of the farm … Made some high level decisions there, years ago. Have some other issues I need to deal with … Left home from time to time, walking, as a youngster, with every intention of never coming back … Never seemed to get past the old tree … I could sit on the roots, leaning against that old white oak tree and ‘pour out my concerns’ … ‘Bout the only place I could go to get “stuff” off my chest … and it never shared a thought…
