Thoughts While Shaving
Spread the love

Thanksgiving was a good day at our house, hopefully at yours as well … we attempted to comply with all rules and regulations…

Today is a favorite time of the year for shoppers … Black Friday … Area merchants are ready, willing and able to assist with your holiday shopping…

Time to make plans to ‘put up’ the Christmas tree, if you haven’t already…

Lu Mil Christmas lights are scheduled to be on beginning at 6 PM today. It’s a drive thru Festival of Lights, $10 per person, ages 5 and under are free … and the 2020 schedule is available on their website.

A reminder from Bladen County Solid Waste Department … All convenience sites are open today, however the transfer station is closed, reopens Monday, November 30.

Old St. Nick must be busy, preparing for Christmas … 5 weeks from today…

I recall, as a youngster, the longest month of the year was the time from Thanksgiving to Christmas … It was an exciting time, despite the fact our expectations ‘were not high’ … maybe a home made shirt from a ‘feed bag’ and some fruit and penny candy, yes there was penny candy … Kits … Mary Janes … lollypops…

One sour note that needs to be sounded … If you have not paid property taxes yet … remember the bill you received in July or August? … it was due September 1, 2020….penalties will be added early January 2021…

Weather forecast … 50% chance of rain today, mainly before 9 AM, fog early, then gradually becoming sunny with a high near 72 … tonight, partly cloudy, with a low around 50 and light wind…

“Fall has always been my favorite season. The time when everything bursts with its last beauty, as if nature had been saving up all year for the grand finale.” Lauren DeStefano

“Love the trees until their leaves fall off, then encourage them to try again next year.” Chad Sugg

“November at its best — with sort of delightful menace in the air.” Anne Bosworth Greene
