Our local firefighters distribute information all year long informing our communities about different dangers. The holiday season is no exception.

We found tips on Bladenboro, Elizabethtown, Tar Heel, White Lake Fire Departments’ social media accounts to share with our readers. Below are the tips and recall notices published by your local emergency responders.

Cooking is the leading cause of home fires. Move things that can burn away from the stove. This includes dishtowels, bags, boxes, paper & curtains.

Keep children & pets at least 3 feet away from a hot stove.

Don’t forget to water your Christmas tree.
