The Elizabethtown – White Lake Area Chamber monthly Tuesday luncheon was not like the usual, and not just because it was held on a different Tuesday than normal. Ricky Leinwand share a prayer for the Jewish new year, Lucy Byrd with Family First gave testimony, while Barbara Knight explained how United Way assists Family First, and Dr. Chris Denny, the Elizabethtown Presbyterian Church Minister, gave a presentation about the 2K15 Bladen Mission Project.

According to Denny the mission project’s partners were area churches, Campbell Oil, NC Baptist Association, and Wesley’s Chapel UMC. The impact of 2K15 was huge.

The mission group worked on improvements on 12 houses, built wheel chair ramps, spent time with the Division on Aging and time with with residents at Elizabethtown Healthcare and Rehab, they worked at the Southeastern Crossroads, raised money for a Crisis Nursery, helped with a Vacation Bible School in Clarkton, and they worked at our local schools.
