Raleigh, North Carolina- In a recent announcement, the North Carolina Council on Developmental Disabilities has mobilized the community for urgent advocacy and engagement. The council is calling on all concerned individuals to actively participate in the public comment period for the NC Medicaid 1915(i) Option draft policies related to CCP 8H-1, Supported Employment for I/DD and TBI, and CCP 8H-5, Community Living and Supports. These draft policies have been posted for a 45-day public review and commentary, culminating on Monday, August 28.

They pertain to crucial aspects of the state’s support systems for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and traumatic brain injuries (TBI). The council encourages citizens to contribute their insights and perspectives by submitting comments to medicaid.public.comment@dhhs.nc.gov before the impending deadline.
