BLADENBORO – Midway defeated West Bladen 3-0 Thursday night in Southeastern Athletic Conference volleyball action by set scores of 25-19, 25-18 and 25-11.
Senior Trinity Meares battered the Midway defense with 18 attacks, 3 kills, 3 service points and had 3 digs. Senior Keira Lewis smacked in 8 attacks, 5 kills and 2 blocks. Senior Maddie Walters rang up 4 service points and 7 attacks.
West freshman Greer Pope handed out 6 assists and racked up 5 service points. Junior Marlene Crabtree drilled in 6 attacks, 5 service points including an ace and had 2 digs. Junior Alina Chavez banged in 5 attacks, a kill, a block and a service point.
Lady Knight senior Jenna McLean hammered in 7 attacks, 3 kills and a service point. Sophomore Emme Bryant returned 3 digs and had 2 attacks. Sophomore Jaylyn Clark knocked in 2 attacks and a block, and junior Holland Davis spiked in 6 attacks.
West Bladen, now 4-3 in SAC-6 play and 9-10 overall, will visit St. Pauls Tuesday.
