ST PAULS –St Pauls dropped the 1st set then won the next 3 sets to claim a 3-1 victory over West Bladen Wednesday night by set scores of 21-25, 25-16, 25-8 and 25-12 in Southeastern Athletic Conference volleyball action.
Freshman Greer Pope keyed the Lady Knight attack with 10 assists, banged in 7 service points and had 2 digs. Junior Marlene Crabtree battered the Lady Bulldogs with 24 attacks, 3 kills and 2 service points. Junior Marlie Walters knocked in 5 attacks and a kill. Junior Alina Chavez swatted in 5 attacks, a service point and a block.
West senior Jenna McLean came up with 7 digs, 2 assists and pounded in 13 attacks, 2 kills and 2 service points including an ace. Senior Trinity Meares pummeled the defense with 20 attacks, 4 kills, a block, a dig and 3 service points including an ace. Junior Holland Davis slammed in 5 attacks and 2 kills.
Senior Kiera Lewis smashed in 13 attacks, 4 kills, a block and 3 service points for West. Senior Maddie Walters spiked in 13 attacks, a kill and 2 service points including an ace. Sophomore Jaylyn Clark fired in 2 service points and had a dig. Sophomore Emme Bryant belted in 5 attacks, a kill and had 2 digs.
The Lady Knights, now 4-4 in SAC-6 play and 9-11 overall, will travel to Fairmont Thursday night.
