BLADENBORO – League-leading Whiteville defeated West Bladen 3-0 on Monday in Three Rivers Conference volleyball action by set scores of 25-11, 25-10 and 25-20.

Senior Mikayla Meadows filled up the stat sheet for West Bladen with two service points, two solo blocks, three digs, a kill, an ace, and an assist. Junior Ashlyn Cox racked up three aces, three service points, two assists, a kill and a dig.

Senior Lexi Corrothers slammed in four kills and a block assist for the Lady Knights. Junior Amelia Brisson knocked in three service points, and senior Jordan Benson was credited with a team-high seven digs.

Junior Shelby Pharr hammered in two kills, a solo block and a service point for the home team. Junior Sidnee Walters finished with four digs and a kill, and Taylor West had a service point and a dig.

“Whiteville is a very quick, skilled team,” said Lady Knight Coach Gaye Davis. “We did not play up to our potential.”

West Bladen, now 5-3 in league play and 7-3 overall, will travel to Fairmont on Tuesday.
