The Bladen County Board of Elections met on Friday morning and certified the results of the recent General Election. There were no changes to any races reported in Bladen County.

The Board of Elections met on Thursday, November 15th, to deal with the final mail-in absentees and provisional ballots. Bladen County Board of Elections Director Cynthia Shaw said there were 65 total provisional ballots cast. Of those, 10 provisional ballots were allowed by the board.

Forty-five mail-in absentee ballots were received by the final deadline and 33 were allowed by the board.

A provisional ballot is given to a voter when there are questions about a voter’s eligibility to vote or the voter’s qualifications to vote, said Board of Elections Chairman Bobby Ludlum.

“No races were impacted,” said Shaw.

The board members each signed an abstract of the votes which will be sent to the Clerk of Court’s Office and the NC State Board of Elections.

No protests were filed following the November election, according to the Bladen County Board of Elections office.

The NC State Board of Elections will conduct a statewide vote canvass on Tuesday, November 27, at 11 a.m.
