WILMINGTON, NC – After an extensive search, WARM NC’s Board of Directors has selected Andy Jones as the organization’s next CEO. Board president Charles Chambers made the announcement internally to staff last week. Jones was previously the Chief Strategy Officer at WARM and served as interim CEO during the two-month search.
“The board took some time to evaluate the needs and goals of the organization and unanimously decided that Andy was a natural choice to lead us into the future,” said Charles Chambers, Board President. “We are confident Andy’s leadership, institutional knowledge, and expertise will build on the success of the past and drive WARM forward as we continue our mission to preserve affordable housing and make sure more of our neighbors are safe at home.”
Jones has served in several capacities with WARM NC since 2018 and in his most recent role as Chief Strategy Officer, he was responsible for establishing the strategic direction for the organization.
“I appreciate the confidence the board has instilled in me and I’m looking forward to seeing where WARM goes in the future,” Jones said. “The work we’re doing and the impact in the community happens because of everyone at WARM and I know we are ready to move forward and make an even bigger impact in the years to come.”
Jones has taken on leadership roles in multiple Long Term Recovery Groups (LRTG) in the aftermath of Hurricane Florence. He has collaborated with community partners to bring about lasting change in the Cape Fear region by building and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with affordable housing organizations and others connected to the cause of providing safe and healthy homes for all. He is also a member of the Board of Directors for North Carolina Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (NCVOAD).
Jones earned his BBA from Georgia College and State University and holds a Master in Divinity from Mercer University. In 2022, he earned a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Duke University.
