A few dates have been shifted around but West Bladen’s 2023 football schedule mirrors their 2022 slate with 9 of the same opponents. Havelock replaces South Brunswick as one of 5 non-conference games for the Knights.
The biggest change locally is that East Bladen and West Bladen will meet in the 2nd week of the season. This was a result of the Eagles moving to the Waccamaw Conference and thus becoming a non-conference foe for the Knights.
For years the East Bladen/West Bladen game capped the regular season schedule for both teams, but in 2021 the Southeastern Conference jumped the East/West game to the beginning of the conference slate. Two years later it is moved again.
Coach Stanley Williams’ Knights open the season at South Columbus just as they did in 2022. After a visit to East Bladen on August 25th, West Bladen will entertain West Columbus in their home opener.
