Spread the love

The West Bladen Key Club has started a “Spread the Love Throughout Bladen County” Clothes Drive today. Co-Presidents Janet Rivera and Ana Zurita-Posas announced the campaign earlier this week.

Boxes to collect new or gently used, clean coats and apparel were distributed by club members throughout Bladen County this week. The campaign will be held from today, Friday, February 7th until Friday, February 14th.

The “kick-off” to the clothes drive was to be held this evening at the West Bladen basketball game, but has been postponed due to the game being canceled, according to Rivera. The club may still hold a “kick-off” type of celebration next week, but donations are already being accepted.

Rivera stated boxes for collections are located at the following locations:

West Bladen High School, 1600 NC-410 Hwy, Bladenboro

BladenOnline.com, 1110 S. Poplar Street, Elizabethtown

Cape Fear Heating & Cooling, LLC, 1110 S. Poplar Street, Elizabethtown

Dollar General in Dublin, 7460 Albert Street, Dublin

Leinwand’s, 132 W. Broad Street, Elizabethtown

She also said the club is looking for another donation drop off site in Bladenboro, but at this time does not have a location in the area.

The donations will be given to area non-profits who seek to help those in need, according to Rivera. If you know of someone in need of clothes or if you would like more information about this campaign or the Key Club you may contact the West Bladen Key Club by email at wbkeyclub20@gmail.com.

The new high school Key Club charter of about 28 members are striving to serve their community with assistance from their partnership with the Elizabethtown Kiwanis Club.

Dr. Lisa Bryan, President of the Kiwanis Club exclaimed her pride for the new Key Club members and their willingness to improve the community. “I am so proud of each and every one of you,” she told them.
