West Bladen grad Brandon Council started the first three games of the 2018 season for the Akron University Zips before being sidelined for the remainder of the season with a hand injury.
The 6-4, 325-pound guard was named the Most Improved Offensive Player for the Zips following spring drills but then had his season cut short by the injury.
Council, a Tar Heel native, is a sports management major.
