DUNN – West Robeson, the District 9 Champions, rolled undefeated through the 2024 Diamond Youth Baseball AA (Coach Pitch) Division 1 State Tournament, winning the championship with a 5-0 record. West Robeson advances to the DYB AA (Coach Pitch) World Series July 25-30 in Orangeburg, SC.
West Robeson posted victories over West Stanly 14-0, Wilmington Supper Optimist 11-5, Stanley 11-5, East Duplin and Nash County. South Columbus, the District 2 champions, dropped their 1st 2 games in the state tourney to Stanley and East Duplin.
In the AA (Coach Pitch) Division 2 state tournament, Red Springs, the District 9 representative, lost their opening game to North Stanley then defeated Richlands before falling 11-8 to South Central in an elimination game. Riegelwood, the District 2 representative, lost their 1st 2 games to West Lincoln and South Central.
