Spread the love

Every year at Thanksgiving, White Lake Fire Department hosts a fundraiser to raise money for equipment. They sell fried turkey, baked turkey, and boston butts. This year’s fundraiser has already been a success, and it hasn’t even happened yet!

Today, White Lake Fire Chief Dale Brennan shared that they purchased more food than ever to sell this year, and they have already sold out with pre-orders. He said, “The community and county really support us.”

Each year on “Thanksgiving Eve,” turkeys and boston butts are picked up at the Fire Department between 5 pm and 7 pm. It is a Thanksgiving tradition.

Chief Brennan also has two pieces of advice for the community:

  1. He says, “Please remember to check the batteries in your smoke detectors!”

  2. All fire departments in the county are selling 911 address signs. “If we can’t find you, we can’t help you,” Chief Brennan says. All proceeds go to Bladen County Firefighter Association.

Finally, Chief Brennan wishes all Bladen County residents a safe and Happy Thanksgiving, on behalf of the White Lake Fire Department.
