Tommy Baker, son of Dr. Warren Baker, grew up around White Lake cultivating his golfing skills at White Lake Golf Course (now Vineyard Golf at White Lake). As a youngster you would find Tommy competing with his low handicap father.

After graduating high school Baker attended the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. He played four years on the UNCP golf team. After graduating UNCP Tommy spent two years as assistant golf coach at Pembroke.  After two years at UNCP he moved to head golf coach at Coker College in Hartsville, S.C.

After staying at Coker for five years he was offered the head girl’s coaching job at St. Leo’s University in Florida. During his tenure at St. Leo’s they became a power in the small college golf scene. Colorado State came calling and this past spring Tommy took the job as Assistant Girl’s Golf Coach at CSU.
