Ivan Parker, Southern Gospel singer, and his son Josh Parker, helped the White Oak community welcome in 2016 Friday evening.  Over 100 people enjoyed the praise and worship with familiar songs such as “The Midnight Cry”, “I Choose”, “Beulah Land”, and many more. Ivan’s son, Josh, has been on tour with him for the last three years.

Parker toured with the Gaithers for years and now performs across the country.  Parker recognized one of the oldest members in the community who was in attendance at the concert, Mr. June Burney, who is 102 years old. Parker also paid tribute to all the veterans in attendance with his stirring rendition of “God Bless the USA.”

The concert was hosted by White Oak Baptist Church in their newly renovated recreation facility at the old White Oak School building.
