The Whiteville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was able to spread some holiday cheer in both Columbus and Bladen County. Over 100 individuals were provided spaghetti, salad, and dessert for lunch. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, lunch was distributed in a drive-thru and pick-up for everyone’s safety. Masks and hand sanitizer were given to all who attended on behalf of the Columbus County Dream Center. Fourteen gift cards were presented to the Bladen County Department of Social Services as Christmas gifts for children in their Adoption & Foster Care Program.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was founded on three basic principles: scholarship, public service, and sisterhood. These ideals have withstood the test of time and are exemplified through the many programs sponsored by the sorority. Each chapter develops programs to address the needs of their communities. These public service programs are centered around Delta’s Five Point Programmatic Thrust: Economic Development, Educational Development, Physical and Mental Health, Political Awareness and Involvement, and International Awareness and Involvement.
