ELIZABETHTOWN – The Braves swept both ends of a doubleheader Monday night from the Rays winning the opener 6-3 then taking the nightcap 13-1 in Dixie Boys Baseball action at County Park.

Braves 6, Rays 3

Jeremiah Bryan walloped a grand-slam home run that powered the Braves to the 6-3 victory in the opening game. Devan Stanley and Gavin Brisson drew walks, and Chase Moultrie singled before Jeremiah Bryan cleaned the bases with his round-tripper in the 2nd inning.

Cole Brisson singled and scored when Ashton Davis hammered a triple in the Braves’ 1st inning. Davis later scored for a 2-0 Braves lead.

Jackson Williams and Greylon Robinson drew walks in the Rays’ 3rd inning, and Noah German knocked both of them in with a double. Nicholas Prevatte walked, Jace Butler cracked a single, and Joshua Williamson’s grounder plated Prevatte and trimmed the margin to 6-3.

Jeremiah Bryan’s grand-slam, Davis’ RBI triple, and singles by Moultrie and Cole Brisson accounted for the Braves’ hits. Cole Brisson, Davis, Stanley, Moultrie, Gavin Brisson and Jeremiah Bryan all scored runs.

Chase Bryan started and pitched 3 innings for the Braves allowing 2 runs on 2 hits and 4 walks while striking out 7. Gavin Brisson worked an inning of relief and allowed a run on a hit and a walk while striking out 2.

German batted 2-for-2 with a double and 2 RBIs for the Rays. Williamson also had an RBI. Butler had a single. Robinson, Williams and Prevatte scored 1 run each. Cameron Thompson pitched 3 innings for the Rays and allowed 6 runs on 4 hits and 3 walks while striking out 3.

Ashton Davis slugged a 3-run home run and drove in 5 runs to lead the Braves to a 13-1 win in the nightcap. Luke Bryant drilled a triple to start the game, and Cole Brisson walked, before Davis raked a single past 3rd that plated both runners. Davis scored later on Andrew Wren’s hit for a 3-0 Braves lead.

Jerod Smith belted a single, and Noah German swatted a single that scored Smith in the Rays 1st inning.

Devan Stanley walked to start the Braves’ 2nd inning, and Dalton Ammons and Chase Moultrie cracked hits. All 3 for them came around to score as the lead grew to 6-1.

Malik Sutton walked, and Bryant was hit by a pitch, before Davis blasted his 3-run homer in the 3rd inning. Chase Bryan followed with a single, and Ashton Bryan, Brooks Carroll, Devan Stanley, Moultrie and Gavin Brisson drew walks. Ammons added a single, and Chase Bryan, Ashton Bryan, Carroll and Stanley all scored as the lead swelled to 13-1.

Carroll started and pitched 2 innings allowing a run on 3 hits and a walk while striking out 5. Bryant pitched a 1-2-3 3rd inning and struck out 2. German started on the mound for the Rays.

Davis finished 2-for-2 with the home run, 2 runs scored and 5 RBIs to lead the Braves hitters. Ammons batted 2-for-2 with a run scored. Bryant tripled and scored 2 runs. Chase Bryan, Wren and Moultrie added 1 hit each. Stanley scored 2 runs, and Cole Brisson, Chase Bryan, Ashton Bryan, Carroll, Moultrie and Sutton scored 1 run each.

Smith, German and Jax Hansen had 1 hit each for the Rays, and Smith scored their run.
