Here are three things to know for Friday, October 6:
1. High School Football: Today, 7 p.m. Both Bladen County schools have away games. Waccamaw Conference-leading East Bladen (4-3, 3-0 Waccamaw) plays at Heide Trask (3-3, 0-2 Waccamaw). West Bladen (2-4, 0-1 Southeastern) plays at Midway (5-1, 1-0 Southeastern).
2. Chicken Bog Plate Sale: Today, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Clarkton First Baptist Church, 10233 N. College Street. Donations only. Proceeds to help repair roof of Fellowship Hall. Will deliver pre-ordered plates to businesses within a 25-mile radius. To pre-order, call Randy Coates at 910-876-4144 for pre-orders.
3. Community Spectacular Yard Sale: Saturday, 8 a.m.-1 p.m., 1110 South Poplar Street, Elizabethtown. Free gift with every purchase. Multiple families will offer items such as appliances, furniture, clothes and more. Bog’d Down Food truck will be on site, as well as Jerry Dove Racing.
