Three Things to KnowThree things to know for Friday, July 15

1. Did you forget Thursday was National Hot Dog Day? Fear not, weiner lovers. There’s another National Hot Dog Day, according to some calendars. It’s Saturday, July 23! To be frank, during a typical summer, Americans are said to eat about 7 billion hot dogs, according to chiff.com. That’s 7,000,000,000. Based on 350 million people in the U.S., that’s 20 hot dogs for every man, woman and child. Let’s eat!

2. The new “Crime” page in Bladen Online’s top navigation has been renamed “Crime/Public Safety.” It will also include stories from fires, accidents and other public safety issues. The page still can be found at bladenonline.com/news/crime/ and the header on that page still will say “Crime,” but wanted to let you know there will be more than crime stories available.

3. Looking for interesting reading? Check out Bladen Online’s Guestbook. Feel free to participate at bladenonline.com/guestbook/ in our version of the town forum. Just need first and last name, town or city, email address (which doesn’t appear on the site), and be respectful during the discussion.
