WHITEVILLE – East Bladen’s girls finished third Thursday in a 5-team Three Rivers Conference track meet at Whiteville. The Eagle boys placed fourth in their meet.

South Columbus (89 points) edged Whiteville (87 points) to win the girls meet. East Bladen’s girls totaled 67 points followed by East Columbus (37 points) and West Columbus (12 points).

Host Whiteville won the boys meet with 122 points followed by East Columbus (94 points), South Columbus (61 points), East Bladen (59 points) and West Columbus (15).

Sophmore Aniyah Jackson was the only event winner for the Lady Eagles taking the 400 meter dash in 1:13.34.

Senior ShaHyra Hogan piled up points for East Bladen with second-place finishes in the 100 meter hurdles (20.3 seconds), the 300 meter hurdles (55.5 seconds) and the long jump (12 feet, 2 inches).

Sophmore Vena Metz took second place in the 1600 meter run for East Bladen with a time of 7:41.62. Senior Hannah Wheeiess finished second in the 800 meter run in 3:28.72.

Also claiming second-place points for the Lady Eagles were the 4×800 meter relay team (14:02.03), the 4×200 meter relay team (2:10) and the 4×400 meter relay team (5:18).

Posting third-place finishes for the East Bladen girls were: freshman Lexus Smith in the shot put (25 feet, 9 inches), junior Janae Wright in the long jump (11 feet) and the 4×100 meter relay team (1:01).

Freshman Makia Johnson scored a fifth-place point in the girls 100 meter dash (14.84).

Senior Travares Carter won both the 100 meter dash (11.73 seconds) and the 200 meter dash (23.51 seconds) for the Eagle boys team. The Eagles 4×800 meter boys relay team won their event with a time of 10:32.13.

Senior Keymon Cromartie won the boys 300 meter hurdles for East Bladen in 45.64 seconds. Cromartie was second in the 110 meter hurdles (18.58) and third in the long jump (16 feet, 10 inches).

Senior Bernard Robinson claimed second-place for the Eagles in the shot put with a heave of 35 feet, 10 inches.

Freshman A. J. Smith posted a third-place finish for the Eagles in the boys 1600 meter run in 5:51.62.

The East Bladen boys 4×400 meter relay team took third place in 4:15 and the boys 4×100 meter relay team was fourth in 49.98 seconds.
