NAKINA – AnnaGrey Heustess poured in 18 points Thursday to lead Clarkton School of Discovery to a 40-7 Waccamaw Middle School Conference girls basketball victory over Nakina.
Maegan Burney fired in four baskets in the opening quarter, and Heustess sank a basket and 2 free throws as the Lady Blue Devils raced to a 14-3 lead.
Heustess dropped in 2 baskets and 4 free throws in the second quarter as the Clarkton lead grew to 22-7 at halftime.
Karli Priest and Heustess threw in 2 baskets each in the third quarter as the Lady Blue Devil lead surged to 32-7. Teammate Shy’Asia Ratliff tossed in 2 baskets in the final period as Clarkton extended the final margin.
Burney finished with 12 points for the winners, and Priest followed with 6 points.
The Lady Blue Devils will travel to Bladenboro Monday for a 4 p.m. game.
