WHITEVILLE – Gary Parker and Deonte Lacy combined for 26 points to lead Bladenboro to a 47-31 Waccamaw Middle School Conference boys basketball victory over Williams Township Thursday night.
Bladenboro took a 29-24 lead into the final quarter, before Parker tossed in a pair of baskets and 4 free throws to key an 18-7 closing surge by the Bulldogs. Lacy powered in a trio of baskets during the pivotal closing run.
Parker led the Bulldogs with 15 points, and Lacy banged in 11 points. Teammate Michael Young dropped in 8 points, and guard Landon Stanley added 6 points.
Lacy and Young pumped in 2 baskets each in the opening quarter as Bladenboro edged in front 10-8. Stanley popped in a pair of baskets in the second quarter, and Parker drilled in a 3-point shot as the Bulldog lead grew to 21-16.
Hezekiah Adams tossed in 2 baskets and a free throw in the third quarter to keep the Bulldog lead at 29-24.
Jamal Brown topped all scorers for Williams Township with 17 points.
The Bulldogs will entertain Clarkton School of Discovery Monday.
