WHITEVILLE –Lainey Autry and MaKayla Wright sparked a 28-4 blitz in the middle quarters that propelled Bladenboro to a 43-19 Waccamaw Middle School Conference victory over Williams Township Thursday.

Autry and Wright threw in baskets to keep the Lady Bulldogs within 9-5 at the first quarter break after B. Lupo’s three baskets created an early Williams spurt.

Wright fired in 3 baskets and a free throw to highlight a 12-2 Bladenboro surge that vaulted the Lady Bulldogs ahead 17-11 at halftime. Whitney McLean and Marly Crabtree contributed baskets during the run.

Autry sank 2 baskets and 2 free throws to ignite a 16-2 Bladenboro third period flurry that blew the game open at 33-13. Mallory Bryan connected for 2 baskets, and Wright, Rylee Chadwick and Kelsey Williams added one basket each in the quarter.

Bryan bombed in a pair of 3-point shots in the final quarter, and Autry pumped in 2 baskets.

Autry headed the Bladenboro scoring list with 13 points, and Wright totaled 11 points. Bryan finished with 10 points.

Lupo led the Williams scoring with 10 points.

The Bulldogs will entertain Clarkton School of Discovery Monday.
