BLADENBORO – A 15-4 second quarter spurt propelled West Bladen’s Lady Knights to a 34-17 Three Rivers Conference girls basketball victory over Red Springs Tuesday night.
Senior Seniah Johnson tossed in a basket and a free throw, and senior Kasee Singletary threw in a basket as the Lady Knights grabbed a 5-4 first period lead.
Singletary sank 3 free throws and a basket in the second quarter, and seniors Lexie Corrothers and Mikayla Meadows fired in 2 baskets each. Sophomore Haley George popped in a basket as the Lady Knights built a 20-8 halftime lead.

Two more Singletary baskets keyed a 10-6 West third quarter spurt, and Corrothers, Johnson and freshman Rylee Chadwick pumped in a basket each to widen the gap to 30-14. Chadwick and Corrothers scored a basket each in the final period.
Singletary topped all scorers with 11 points. Corrothers followed with 8 points, and Johnson totaled 5 points. Syndey Bell led Red Springs with 8 points.
Coach Brian McCleney’s Lady Knights, now 8-1 in the TRC and 10-3 overall, will travel to Lakewood Wednesday night.
