WILSON – Former West Bladen star Trevor Lesane batted 3-for-7, drove in 3 runs and scored one as his Erskine Flying Fleet swept a Carolinas Conference baseball doubleheader Saturday from Barton College by scores of 11-4 and 23-8.

Lesane smacked a single in the 3rd inning of the opener then lifted a sacrifice fly to center field in the 5th inning that scored Drew Yniesta and stretched the Erskine lead to 6-1.

The Tar Heel native belted a single to right field in the 1st inning of the nightcap that plated Yniesta and Dalton Reeves with the 3rd and 4th runs of the game. Lesane raced home when Tariq Bacon hammered a triple that boosted the Erskine lead to 7-0. Lesane cracked a 4th inning single and finished 2-for-4 at the plate.

Lesane, a senior centerfielder, is currently batting .435 with 10 hits, 8 runs batted in, 5 runs scored and 13 total bases.

The Flying Fleet improved to 4-4 on the season and are 2-0 in conference play. Erskine will travel to North Greenville Friday to begin a weekend series against the Crusaders.
