87&Pine, a Bladen-based band, has been given a great opportunity. According to lead singer Brent Underwood, a friend, Abraham Ruelas, put him in contact with someone who works with country music star Jason Aldean in July, and from that July conversation, an October opportunity arose.

After Ruelas showed Todd Rash, an owner of Treasure Island Records, the music videos for “Could Have Been,” a song written by Underwood with his previous band Nephilym, and “Goodbye Carolina” by 87&Pine, Rash was interested.

The co-owner of Treasure Island Records offered Brent Underwood and his band to go to Nashville and record an album, and when it is done, he said he would “put it in the right people’s hands.”

Underwood shared, “We are tentatively set to record next month with multiple grammy-nominated Joe Carell engineering and producing the album! This is an amazing opportunity that not many get and we are humbled and honored to get the chance to record in the same studio as Jason Aldean, James Taylor, and Sing, to name a few.”

87&Pine consists of Chris Howell (drums), Dane Goodwin (lead guitarist), Dustin Varner (bass), and Brent Underwood (lead singer).
