RED SPRINGS – Junior Trinity Meares lit up the scoreboard with 22 service points Thursday night as she led West Bladen’s Lady Knights to a 3-0 Southeastern Athletic Conference volleyball victory over Red Springs by set scores of 25-16, 25-10 and 25-11.
Three of Meares’ service points were aces, and she also spiked in 2 kills. Senior Emily Young handed out 6 assists, pounded in 5 kills and added 2 aces, 3 other service points and a block. Junior Jenna McLean dished out 5 assists and slammed in 2 kills, 2 aces and 4 other service points.
Senior Whitney McLean led the Lady Knights at the net blasting in 10 kills and 8 service points that included 3 aces. Senior Kaitlyn Brisson pounded in 5 kills. Senior Kylie Durden racked up 3 digs, 2 aces and another service point.
Senior Makayla Wright smashed in 2 kills, an ace and had 3 other service points and a dig. Junior Maddie Walters contributed a kill and an assist.
Coach Gaye Davis’ Lady Knights claimed their 1st conference win and are now 1-3 in league play and 3-8 overall. West Bladen will visit St. Pauls Tuesday night.
