ELIZABETHTOWN – Seniors Kaden Thurman and Lainey Autry combined to win 3 points, and East Columbus forfeited 2 matches as West Bladen slipped past the Lady Gators 5-4 Monday in non-conference girls tennis action at Bladen County Park.

Thurman and Autry posted victories in their singles matches, then teamed up capture a point at No. 1 doubles. East Columbus forfeited the No. 6 singles and the No. 3 doubles match due to only having 5 players at the match.

“A fortunate win for the Lady Knights,” said West Bladen Coach Billy Bryant.

East Columbus #2 def. Martinez/Skipper (WB) 8-3
Douglas/Rodriguez (WB) def. East Columbus #3 DF 1-0

West Bladen evened their overall record at 5-5 with the victory and will resume Southeastern Athletic Conference play Tuesday at St. Pauls at 4 p.m.
