East Bladen’s Lady Eagles handed visiting Clinton its’ first Four County Conference volleyball loss of the season Thursday night by game scores of 23-25, 25-14, 25-22 and 25-21.
Senior Miller Heustess directed the Lady Eagle attack with a double-double of 23 assists and 14 service points and also had an ace, a dig, a kill, and a block. Senior Lacey Suggs pounded in 16 kills, 4 aces, 7 service points, and a block to go with 2 assists.
Junior Lexie Mendell slammed in 13 kills, 6 service points, 3 aces and a block for the winners. Senior Abby Ward fired in 12 service points and an ace.
Sophomore Hannah DeVane hammered in 5 kills and 6 service points for East, and senior Claire Campbell dished out 8 assists and added 4 service points, 2 aces and 2 kills. Junior Anna Grace Long smacked in 2 kills, an ace and a service point.
Coach Jennifer Hair’s Lady Eagles have now won four consecutive conference matches to raise their league record to 5-4 and their overall mark to 8-7. East Bladen will travel to Pender Tuesday night.
