Wallace-Rose Hill jumped to leads of 16-0 and 22-6 at halftime then went on to hand the East Bladen jayvees their first loss of the season 42-14 in Four County Conference action at Wallace.

Wallace-Rose Hill scored on their first possession of the game and added the 2-point conversion. The Bulldogs then recovered their on-side kick and drove for another touchdown and conversion to take the 16-0 lead.

East Bladen’s Xavier Wooten ran 5 yards for the first Eagle touchdown, but left the game in the second quarter with a hand injury.

“We’ve had 3 or 4 injuries, and it caught up with us tonight,” said Eagle Coach Ritchie Priest. “Something wasn’t right tonight.”

James Higgins dashed 17 yards for a second-half East Bladen touchdown. Higgins also carried into the end zone for the 2-point conversion.

The Eagle jayvees are now 7-1 on the season and will host Union next Thursday night at 6:30.
