EAST ARCADIA – ShyRon Adams poured in 23 points Thursday to lead Bladenboro to a 46-26 Bladen Five Middle School Conference boys basketball victory over East Arcadia.

The Panthers stayed close in the opening quarter as Roderick Grainger bombed in a 3-point shot and Cody Long and Kari Price added baskets to keep East Arcadia within 9-7.

Adams threw in 2 baskets and a free throw for the Bulldogs in the first period, and teammates Joshua Lewis and Andrew Pait netted baskets.

Adams fired in 4 baskets and a free throw to key an 18-5 Bulldog run that stretched the Bladenboro lead to 27-12 at halftime. Brycen Blackmon threw in 2 baskets during the run, and Jaylen Monse tossed in a basket and a free throw. Donovan Stone also scored a basket.

Grainger drained another 3-point shot, and Long and Price made a free throw each for the Panther points in the second quarter.

Grainger pumped in 2 baskets in the third period, and Emanuel Lewis buried a 3-point shot. Long knocked down another basket to keep the margin at 36-21.

Adams burnt the nets with 3 baskets and a free throw for Bladenboro in the third quarter, and Stone popped in another basket.

Blackmon connected for 2 more Bulldog baskets in the final quarter, and Pait and Walter Bealon dropped in a basket each. Adams hit 2 free throws.

Trevon Sowers and Quantico Fennell rang up baskets for East Arcadia in the final quarter, and Grainger sank a free throw.

Blackmon finished with 8 points for the Bulldogs, and Pait and Stone followed with 4 points each.

Grainger led the Panthers with 11 points, and Long finished with 5 points.

The Bulldogs evened their record at 2-2 for the season.
