DUNN – West Bladen senior Daniel Gustafson and junior Christopher Ramirez Labra have been named to the All-Southeastern Athletic Conference boys’ soccer team.

Gustafson (pictured, left) led the Knight defense with 71 steals, while Ramirez Labra (pictured, right) totaled 65 steals, fired off 21 shots and tallied 7 goals and 2 assists.

“Daniel is a textbook defender,” said Knight Coach Kristen Parker. “He could read the game, and he led our backs really well. I remember seeing him as a freshman (before I began coaching the boys), and thinking, wow, that kid is really good! He’s just a natural.

“Chris has really stepped into his role this year and I expect him to take on an even larger leadership role next year,” said Parker. “I’ve had to use him in many positions this year when we had players out. He is a solid soccer player with a good IQ. Looking forward to seeing even more from him next year.”

SAC-6 champion Clinton had both the Player of the Year, Walker Spell, and the Coach of the Year, Brad Spell. Five more Dark Horses were chosen All-Conference – Griffin Williams, Holden Spell, J. J. Najera, Ryan Freeman, Oskar Adasiak.

Midway had 5 All-SAC-6 selections – Heinze Mondgaon, Abraham Florido, Gavin Warren, Edwin Gaspar, Holden Sinclair. St. Pauls placed Covin Gomez, Gama SC, Kevin Lopez and Eric Aguilar on the all-league squad. Red Springs players chosen were Alfredo Capulin and Carlos Garcia Hernandez.
