ST PAULS – St. Pauls capitalized on five unearned runs to defeat West Bladen 5-0 Tuesday night in Three Rivers Conference baseball action.

Two walks and three West Bladen errors produced three Bulldog runs in the third inning. Two hit batters, a passed ball and an error led to a pair of St. Pauls runs in the fifth inning.

Sophmore Logan West hammered a one-out double in the Knight sixth inning. After senior Scott Bowen reached base on an error, a double play ended the inning.

Sophmore Jake Butler slammed a double to left-centerfield to begin the West Bladen seventh inning, but he was stranded on base.

The Knights outhit the Bulldogs 2-1. Erikison Emanuel’s 2-out double in the second was the only Bulldog hit. Senior Aaron Revels pitched the 2-hit shutout for St. Pauls, striking out 6 while walking two and hitting one batter.

Bowen started on the mound for the Knights and allowed 3 runs – none earned – on one hit and 3 walks while striking out two in 3 innings.

Junior Derrick Long pitched the next 2.2 innings and gave up 2 runs – none earned – on 2 hit batters and no hits or walks while striking out three. Sophmore Colby White came on to retire the only batter that he faced in the sixth inning.

West Bladen’s non-conference game with Wallace-Rose Hill that was scheduled for Thursday has been postponed until April 18th. The Knights will host South Columbus Friday night.
