BCCNursingGraduationDUBLIN – Bladen Community College graduated its largest associate degree nursing class ever in May, with a pinning ceremony for twenty nursing students. The service included remarks by Dr. Barbara Synowiez, Chair and Professor of Nursing at UNC-Pembroke, who encouraged students to “believe in yourself because dreams really can come true.”

Graduating students were Farrah Nicole Bertrand (Class President), Audrey Michelle Britt Blue (Class Secretary), Leah Brooke Brockmeyer, Toni Dianne Burney, Lindsey Victoria Caulder, Jalyssa Chavis, Rebecca Arlisha Dove, Tarshialonda Irena Harris, Monica Pena Hernandez (Class Treasurer), Catherine Kennedy Johnson, Kimberly Ann Johnston, Jada Lincoln McGirt, Melinda Ann Norris, Samantha Sara Oswald, Amanda Kay Rea, Tosha Waddell Rogers (Class Vice President), Logan C. Seals, Justin P. Swett, Sydney Hall Thompkins, and Deena Kay Whitney (Class Photographer).

Class President, Farrah Bertrand spoke to the attendees, remarking, “the moment we have been working for is happening right now.”

Students Deena Whitney and Audrey Blue shared the Professional Nursing Award. Leah Brockmeyer was recognized with the Highest Grade Point Average Award.

Marshalls for the occasion were Sarah Mills, Erin Tatum-Merritt, Tracy Lassiter, and Jessica Stanley.
