Looking for a new career? Start at Bladen Community College with classes to become a Call Center Associate.

Those interested should enroll in two continuing education class offerings at BCC. First, as a prerequisite, Working Smart, a soft skills for workplace success program, equips job seekers with important skills needed in today’s workplace such as professionalism, communication skills, phone etiquette and more.

In addition to learning new skills, participants will also learn how to apply skills in their everyday lives, have an opportunity to network with others, and have something to include on their resume.

Upon completion of the course, students should qualify for the “Working Smart” certification. Working Smart is a total of 24 hours of class time. Enrollment and information day is set for Sept. 24 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

In addition to Working Smart, Bladen Community College is offering a course that has been developed to prepare people to work in an entry-level position as a Client Service Associate.

There are a number of client service centers within the region that regularly recruit people who are equipped with essential workplace readiness skills needed to thrive in this type of work environment.

Students will explore concepts of client service employment with an emphasis on professionalism, client services, communication skills, computer basics, care center environment, best practices, employment techniques, job application/resumes.

The Client Service Training starts Sept. 24. Students are encouraged to complete both courses.
