WENDELL – Bladen County’s 10-and-Under All-Stars won their opening game 23-10 Friday night over Onslow County in the StateWide Activities Committee’s (SWAC) State Basketball Tournament.
Bladen County will play at 1:15 p.m. Saturday against the winner of Fuquay and Carteret. The games are being played at 601 W. Third St. in Wendell.
Racquel Whittington led the Bladen team with 9 points. Teammates Allyzon Cruz and Armani McMillian scored 4 points each. Elizabeth Miller tossed in 3 points, and Kaylee Fisher added 2 points. Jeniya Whittington sank a free throw.
Other team members are Jada Hicks, Martia Jackson, Khloe Campbell and Ava Brisson. Head Coach is Dom Whittington. Assistant Coach is Jerry Campbell.
