Bladen County Recreation’s 11-12 Fast-Pitch Softball kicked off at County Park Tuesday night with the Glory and Sandpipers posting victories.

Glory 13, Force 3

Kayleigh Raynor knocked in 5 runs to lead the Glory to a 13-3 victory over the Force in Tuesday’s opener.

After Lauren Bowen walked to start the game, Katie Evans cracked a single to drive her in. Raynor smacked a single that drove in Evans, and Alyssa Futrell, Hannah Cole, Natalie Spears, Carrington McDowell and Luz Ramos drew walks. Raynor, Futrell and Cole scored runs as the Glory took a 5-0 lead.

Lauren Pait and pitcher Megan West drew walks in the Force half of the first, and Pait scored to trim the lead to 5-1.

Lachelle Parks ripped a home run to start the Glory second inning. Bowen slammed a double, and Evans walked, before Raynor hammered a triple that scored Bowen and Evans. Cole was hit by a pitch, and Merritt Martin walked. Weslyn Hall laced a single that drove in 2 runs. Raynor, Cole and Martin all scored runs as the lead grew to 11-1.

Parks led off the Glory third inning with a single but was forced at second by Evans. Raynor walloped a home run that scored Evans ahead of her and pushed the lead to 13-1.

The Force added 2 runs in their half of the fourth. Whitney McLean walked, and Lauren Pait drove her in with a single. After West walked, Pait scored the final Force run.

Raynor pitched 2 innings, struck out 6 batters and walked two. Bowen pitched the final 2 innings for the Glory, striking out 4, walking 3 and allowing one hit.

Raynor batted 3-3 with a triple, and a home run. Parks finished 2-2 at the plate with a home run. Bowen had the double, and Evans, Hall and Spears added one single each.

Lauren Pait had the only Force hit.

Sandpipers 12, Racers 2

The Sandpipers scored 8 runs in the second inning en route to a 12-2 victory over the Racers in Tuesday’s nightcap.

Katlynn Tatum reached base on an error to begin the Racer first inning and came around to score on another error. Abigail Collins, Hailey Guyton and Grace West drew walks to load the bases, but 2 strike-outs ended the inning.

Sydney Gardner and Mary Katelyn Lennon drew walks to start the Racer second. Gardner scored on a passed ball for a 2-0 Racer lead.

In the Sandpiper second, Daenata Edler was hit by a pitch, and Lexie Edwards, Tyresha McNair and Acee Campbell drew walks. After Alexus Mitchell was hit by a pitch, Lainey Autry, AnnaGrey Heustess, Maegan Burney, Briley Stanley and Edwards all drew walks.

Edler, Edwards, McNair, Campbell, Mitchell, Autry, Heustess, and Burney all scored runs in the inning to put the Sandpipers ahead 8-2.

In the Sandpiper third inning, Campbell walked, and Autry drilled a 2-run home run past the leftfielder. Heustess and Burney walked and both scored runs to pad the lead to 12-2.

Heustess pitched a 4-inning no-hitter, struck out 9 and walked 9 for the Sandpipers.
Autry’s home run was the only hit in the game.

Guyton started in the circle for the Racers.
